China MEE Consults on Adding 22 Substances into IECSC
On April 28, 2022, the Chinese Ministry of Ecology and Environment (MEE) published a notice to consult on the addition of 22 substances to the Inventory of Existing Chemical Substances in China (IECSC). The consultation will end on May 13, 2022.
These 22 substances were manufactured in or imported into China before October 15, 2003, which fulfilled the supplementation criteria but missed the previous supplementation window.
Details of these substances can be assessed here, including chemical name (both in Chinese and English), CAS number or Series number, molecular formula, structural formula, etc. They are now going to be regulated as existing chemical substances in China, and thus free from new chemical registration or notification requirements under the Measures for the Ecology and Environmental Management Registration of New Chemical Substances (MEE Order No.12).
