Background

In recent years, many scandals about food safety are reported globally, and the governments are becoming more cautious to protect the food safety. In China, the scandal of Husi causes panic for food safety among consumers, which promotes the Chinese government to revise the related regulation which includes GB 9685, a regulation on China FCM compliance. The revised version may come out in the end of 2015 which will instead the GB 9685-2008. NHFPC is responsible for the revision work. Meanwhile, the FCM is now widely considered that would affect the food safety, because the substance in FCM will migrate into food. Therefore, many governments have set regulation for FCM, like USA, EU, China, Japan, etc. It’s necessary for producers/exporters to comply with the FCM regulation before launching products into the markets.
