Transportation of Dangerous Goods in China: REACH24H and UMCO Hold Seminar to Discuss Latest Updates and Future Trends

October 11, 2018. Munich, Germany. Once more, REACH24H and UMCO teamed up to share the latest developments in the field of DGM (Dangerous Goods Management), this time in the port city of Munich, Germany, holding a day Seminar on the Transport of Dangerous Goods in China. The event welcomed representatives from renowned companies such as BASF, Daimler, and Merck, and focused on the management of dangerous goods transportation in China and future trends following the latest approval of China’s Dangerous Goods Road Transport Regulation JT/T617.

Mr. Willi Weßelowscky, Head of the Dangerous Goods Team at UMCO GmbH, introduced attendees to the regulatory framework of DGM, using his years of experience in the field to explain the main areas professionals should be wary of at the time of compliance. He additionally discussed the Limited Quantities and Excepted Quantities standards affecting the transport of small packages of dangerous goods, which simplify the requirements involved in the production, sale and use of these items.

Mr. Jin Shaohua, Compliance Specialist at REACH24H, focused on the management requirements for the transport of dangerous goods in China, management framework for the transport of small packages of dangerous goods and other specific provisions, offering his interpretation of this running issue, and combining it with actual case analysis.

Mr. Zhao Yi, a fellow REACH24H Compliance Specialist, explained China’s import and export supervision standards for hazardous chemicals, as well as packing and consignment requirements for dangerous goods.

Following the presentations, attendees had the opportunity to share their ideas and exchange contacts with other representatives as well as the speakers, allowing all to learn more about the developing standards in China.
