In the first quarter of 2018, China’s General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine (AQSIQ) published a list of 69 imported non-compliant industrial products, among which 7 were non-compliant food contact materials and products. The main issues identified in these 7 products were excessive bacterial colonies, unqualified product identification, and excessive volatile substances. All products listed below have been found non-compliant:

On February 26^th, AQSIQ issued the Main Points of Product Quality Supervision for 2018. According to the report, AQSIQ would enhance its supervision of products by strengthening the control of production licenses, spot-checks and risk management duties, and focus on the quality safety control over six areas, including food related products as one of them. As for food related products, the competent authority focused on the risk monitoring and process risk monitoring of food products, undertaking to monitor 13 products such as paper products and 10 processes such as the curing of composite film.
