REACH24H Attended Workshop on Cosmetic Risk Assessment and Alternatives to Animal Testing as a Sponsor

On April 8-10, 2015, The Workshop on Cosmetic Risk Assessment and Alternatives to Animal Testing was held in Guangzhou. It was co organized by the Guangdong Society of Toxicology and Guangdong Provincial Center for disease control and prevention. Reach24H attended the conference as a sponsor where our Regulatory Toxicologist Cindy Xie, who is a core member of the Cosmetic Division, presented the “application of cosmetic safety assessment in China cosmetic registration”.

The organizers invited scientists and specialists from the China Food and Drug Administration (CFDA), the Institute for in Vito Sciences (IIVS) and the Cosmetic standards Committee to give multiple presentations in regards of the new trends in Cosmetics Regulations. The aim was to promote the exchange and cooperation for cosmetic safety risk assessment achievements and new progress among counterparts, both domestic and abroad. More than 150 industry experts of Chinese cosmetics enterprises and related laboratory researches participated in the meeting.

Two principle themes during the conference were further discussed. Those were the ‘cosmetic risk assessment’ and the ‘non-animal alternative’. The interpretations of related regulations in cosmetic risk assessment were discussed in details. There was also lectures that showed detailed reports on new achievements of alternatives to animal testing by Shuangqing Peng (Chinese toxicologist) and Rodger Dr. (IIVS scientist).
