The emergence telephone

The catchy point of Hannah’s presentation lies at her introduction of emergence phone included in the compliance of China-based chemical regulations. As one of the obligations imposed by China GHS, the “emergency phone” requirements go as follow:

·the number shall be within the territory of China;

·professional work staff is responding to the call;

·the phone must be available 24/7.

NRCC (National Registration Center for Chemicals), the enforcement body of China GHS, has inspected over 5000 emergency phone numbers last year. Over 90% were found incompliant.

Meanwhile, the supervision of emergence phone has met one major change recently as “the chemical emergency response hotline” established by NRCC was designated as the only national chemical incident emergency response hotline by the SAWS—a latest revision that during and after her presentation was mostly addressed to Hannah Zhuang by many of the participants on  that day.

As the enforcement of China GHS keeps being enhanced, to comply with the requirements has become inevitable and extremely urgent.
