China Issues 2022 Draft List of New Pollutants for Priority Management [English Translation Available]
On September 24, China MEE released a notice to solicit public comments for the Draft List of New Pollutants for Priority Management (2022). The 2022 Draft contains 14 types of new pollutants, specifying their names, CAS numbers and major environmental risk control measures. (Read more)
Hazchem: China Shandong Pushes Forward Hazchem QR Codes Application
On August 31, 2022, the Department of Emergency Management of Shandong, China issued the official document to outline the measures and targets for the Hazchem QR code application in Shandong province. It is noted in the document that hazardous chemicals manufactured or imported in Shandong must be affixed with the Hazchem QR code. (Read more)
TCCSCA: China’s Taiwan Region Proposes 15 Substances as Chemicals of Concern
EPA of China’s Taiwan Region is consulting on designating 15 chemical substances as “chemical substances of concern”, including 2 new psychoactive substances, 5 chemicals of food safety concerns and 8 precursors for blasting explosives. The 14-day consultation period ended on September 22, 2022. (Read more)
China’s Taiwan Region to Allow Online Application for TCSI Inclusion
The new chemical registration system in China’s Taiwan Region has been implemented since the end of 2014. There is increased demand from the industry for listing qualified new chemical substances in Taiwan’s existing chemical substance inventory (TCSI). As planned, a new function has been incorporated into the Chemical Substances Register 2.0 to enable online application for TCSI inclusion since October 3, 2022. (Read more)

K-REACH: South Korea Finalizes Regulation on Designation of Substances subject to Authorization
On August 25, 2022, South Korea’s Ministry of Environment (MoE) officially published the Regulation on Designation, etc. of Substances subject to Authorization (hereinafter referred to as the Regulation) to specify how to select candidate substances and designate the authorized substances under K-REACH. The Regulation will come into effect on October 15, 2022. (Read more)
