REACH24H successfully holds workshops at Madrid’s International Conference on Chemical Safety Regulations

April 13, 2018. Madrid, Spain. Today marked the last day of the 10th International Conference on the Implementation of Global Chemical Safety Regulations in Russia and CIS Corporations, a global event which saw hundreds of professionals across the chemical industry gather to exchange renovated views, insights and future challenges in the field. REACH24H was proud to be invited to present on topics that expanded the scope of the conference, offering a thorough analysis on the current AP and American regulatory framework.

On Tuesday, REACH24H held a full workshop which focused mainly currently heated topics related not only to China, but the AP Region at large. Introducing the workshop, Mr. Kintan Xu, Manager of the AP Regulatory Affairs Department, discussed the latest chemical substance notification updates and other relevant topics in China, including the recent dismantling of the Ministry of Environmental Protection (MEP) in favor of the Ministry of Ecological Environment (MEE) and its implications for the development and implementation of the countries policies (Chemlinked news: https://chemlinked.com/news/chemical-news/chinese-mep-and-saws-be-replaced-new-administrative-authorities). A summary introduction to the registration of chemicals in China was also included, a constantly requested and welcomed topic in international conferences, as was evidenced by the participants interest and contributions.

Other topics included REACH24H Manager of EHS department, Ms. Renee Liang’s introduction to China’s Chemical regulations and Environmental protection policy, and Regulatory Analyst Mr. Matt Lyu’s overview of Chemlinked and its role as a growing and internationally recognized news and analysis professional online resource platform.

Mr. Robert Kiefer, General Manager of REACH24H, USA was also a speaker during the workshop, addressing the A-P Region and the different “REACH-like” regulatory systems. Mr. Kiefer was also responsible for a separate seminar, held on the Thursday 12th, which touched on U.S’s most recent TSCA reform, highlights of the new law which include new deadlines enforceable by EPA and a new risk-based safety standard, as well as particulars on the implementation of the LCSA.

Following this last day of seminars and panels, the International Conference on the Implementation of Global Chemical Safety Regulations in Russia and CIS Corporations thus concluded its 10th edition, welcoming networking opportunities, multifocal debates and high-level exchanges, including reach24h contributions, to provide a holistic and updated view of chemical safety regulations in the global scene.
