It was back in May 2017 when Chinese President Xi Jinping announced at the Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation that China intended on holding an annual event to bring together all major and growing import players in the market: the China International Import Expo (CIIE).

With the world’s largest population, China currently holds the title of second largest economy, as well as the second largest importer and consumer market in the world. With the government signaling to a new development era which will require increasing levels of demand,  consumption demand and imports are still expected to be key driving forces for development. To know this we just have to look at the forecasted figures for the next five years: China is expected to import products and services valued at more than 10 trillion U.S. dollars. This should provide a historic opportunity for businesses across the world to take a leap and jump into the huge Chinese market.

Since the first CIIE Expo in 2018, more and more companies and foreign trade offices have joined this yearly event, and the REACH24H has been no exception. REACH24H has cooperated with more than 20 countries’ trade agencies to share knowledge and help them learn how to remove trade barriers to make solidly step into the Chinese market.

What about this year’s CIIE?

As one of the most anticipated events of the year, CIIE 2019 is once again expected to showcase business opportunities and relevant market and regulatory updates. As such, REACH24H has been invited to join Philippines, Costa Rica and Poland trade agencies to deliver a number of seminars to help overseas enterprises have a better understanding of the market and regulatory barriers to bridge to access the China market.
