SEOUL, June 7, 2024 – REACH24H Consulting Group, in collaboration with the Korea Cosmetic Industry Institute (KCII), successfully hosted an in-depth webinar focused on cosmetic market trends, regulatory updates, and approval requirements across five key ASEAN countries. The event offered essential insights into the ASEAN Cosmetics Directive (ACD) and the specific regulatory landscapes of Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Singapore.

Seongmin (Mike) Sohn, General Manager of REACH24H Korea, moderated the seminar. He underscored the importance of understanding local regulations, protecting domestic industries, and keeping abreast of approval requirements to ensure sustained export growth in the ASEAN market. “Analyzing the latest trends in cosmetic regulations and local approval requirements is essential for continuous export growth in the ASEAN market,” Sohn noted.

The webinar featured several key sessions:

  • ASEAN Cosmetics Market Trends and Status: Presented by EC21 R&C, this session focused on industry movements and consumer behavior, showcasing products from emerging local brands.
  • ASEAN Cosmetics Regulation Overview: Mike Sohn of REACH24H Korea outlined the general structure of ASEAN cosmetics regulations, including the ACD and AHCRS, and highlighted the regulatory differences across various countries, focusing on Thailand’s regulatory framework.
  • Regulatory Updates for Singapore and Malaysia: Hedy He from CHEMLINKED provided an overview and updates on cosmetics regulations in these two countries.
  • Regulatory Insights for Vietnam and Indonesia: Yen Vu, Regulatory Specialist at REACH24H Vietnam, and Asy Asfra Nabila from REACH24H Indonesia, concluded the session with an overview of regulations in Vietnam and Indonesia.
  • Cosmetics Safety Assessment Platform: The final session introduced KCII’s cosmetics safety assessment platform, aimed at preparing the industry for current and future safety assessment requirements in Korea and internationally.

The webinar attracted approximately 170 participants, providing them with valuable knowledge and fostering industry engagement. The event concluded successfully, reflecting REACH24H’s and KCII’s commitment to supporting the cosmetic industry through education and regulatory guidance.
