REACH24H Attends 2015 Cosmetic Europe International Conference

REACH24H Consulting Group was invited to attend 2015 Cosmetic Europe International Conference in Brussels, Belgium during 16th~19th June. Martin HU, Technical Manager of Cosmetic Division of REACH24H, gave a speech on “Current Situation of China Cosmetic Regulatory Compliance”, which gained great concerns and recognized by the audience.

For more than 50 years Cosmetic Europe have been an established European association representing over 4000 member companies and associations of different sizes in the cosmetics and personal care industry. Its mission is to shape an operating environment conducive to long-term growth to make products which decisively contribute to individual and social well-being in everyday life. The subject of this year’s conference is “Cosmetics at the Crossroads of Science and Regulation”, attracts over 250 attendees from European Commission, Personal Care Products Council, Japan Cosmetic Industry Association, and multinational companies, e.g. L’Oréal, Chanel, Henkel, Avon, Johnson& Johnson, Kao, Shiseido, Coty, Beiersdorf and so on.

Two sessions on Trends and challenges in science, risk assessment and regulation were hold in the first day, eight breakout sessions on specific topics in the next day and one internal meeting with one public forum were arranged in the last day. Mr. Martin HU was invited to give a speech together with Mr. Gerald Renner, the Technical Regulatory Affairs Director of Cosmetic Europe and Mr. Roman Mokry from DG Grow, European Commission in the second day’s session, mainly interpreted the background, requirements and related process of current and future China cosmetic regulation.

Breakout Session – Cosmetic Legislation in China

 

The latest data from Cosmetic Europe shows that Europe is still the biggest cosmetic market, and China now is at the third place with fast booming speed. For European companies, China market means both challenges and opportunities, and China regulations will be the first barrier. How to make the products compliant efficiently is also a key point for winning the market. In the meantime, the imported products also make an impact on the domestic companies, who need to think about how to build confidence of consumers; compliance may be a good start.
