In April 2018, China’s Ministry of Agricultural and Rural Affairs (MoARA) issued No. 20 Announcement and promulgated 6 ministerial regulations regarding pet food’s importation, production, sanitary standard and labeling (click here for the details). All pet food has been required to comply with the sanitary standard since Jan 1st 2019 and will have to comply with the label requirements starting from Sep 1st 2019. Besides, registration approval with MoARA is mandatory for all imported pet food products.
