March 18, 2021. 2020 was a challenging year for businesses across the globe, and REACH24H and Helsinki Chemicals Forum (HCF) were no exception to the norm. Still, it was in 2020 when our partnership with one of Europe’s leading chemical fora emerged, leading to the CRAC-HCF 2020 Virtual Forum which was visited by over 9000 participants.
This coming April 27-28, 2021 the Helsinki Chemicals Forum will return for its 12th HCF Conference in Europe, this time to be held over a two-day virtual setting.

Bjorn Hansen
Executive Director of ECHA
Bjorn Hansen is ECHA’s Executive Director. He is ECHA’s legal representative, in charge of the day-to-day management and all staff matters. Bjorn was involved in developing REACH and CLP from their very early days. He has been involved in international chemicals work since 1991, with highlights including being elected Chair of the OECD Working Party on Manufactured Nanomaterials and chairing several contact groups at three consecutive UN triple COPs.
Virginijus Sinkevičius
EU Commissioner for Environment
Virginijus Sinkevičius is the present Commissioner for the Environment, Oceans and Fisheries, at the European Commission. Mr Sinkevičius was from 2017 to 2019 Minister of Economy, and before he was leading the Committee of Economy at the Parliament of Lithuania. Mr. Sinkevičius was elected to the Parliament in October 2016. Prior, he was a Team Lead for Regulatory Affairs at Invest Lithuania. Mr. Sinkevičius holds BA in International Relations and Affairs from Aberystwyth University and Master‘s degree in European International Affairs from Maastricht University.
Jan Vapaavuori
Mayor of Helsinki, City of Helsinki
Since June 2017, Mayor of Helsinki. Set forth a city strategy championing Helsinki as the “most functional city in the world” with a special focus on sustainable growth, digitalization, global problem solving, creativity and the best possible conditions for happy everyday city life. The strategy also defined Helsinki as a testbed for start-ups and smart city development projects resulting in an increased global relevance for the city. Long-term Member of the Helsinki City Council and Chairman of the City Board. LLM, University of Helsinki. Honorary Doctorate, Hanken School of Economics. Member of the World Economic Forum Global Future Council.
