The Australian National Industrial Chemicals Notification and Assessment Scheme (NICNAS) was established in 1990 to regulate the notification and assessment of chemicals. The reform of the NICNAS was initiated in 2015. On January 11, 2019, the Australian government announced that, following two delays, the Australian Industrial Chemicals Introduction Scheme (AICIS) is scheduled to be implemented starting from July 1, 2020 to replace the NICNAS as an overarching regulatory framework for introduction of industrial chemicals into the country. The reform has undoubtedly brought about significant changes in the management of industrial chemicals in Australia, as well as an impact on enterprises engaged in industrial chemicals activities in the country.
This webinar will navigate you through the transition from NICNAS to AICIS and provide you with insightful regulatory compliance recommendations.
