Since the beginning of 2022, the K-Beauty industry has been facing a crisis with exports to China plummeting for 4 consecutive months. Facing the changing consumer preferences, it’s important to catch the latest trends and seize new opportunities in the target market.

Jungjun Park from REACH24H motioned in his speech that “Guochao” is one of the popular trends in China’s market, which means consumer goods that are infused with Chinese cultural elements as a key selling point.

MAC, FENTY BEAUTY, HEY TEA, Coca-Cola, and such brands were promoting GuoChao in their products, appealing to Gen-Z. Through careful measures and a deep understanding of Gen-Z, GuoChao may be a breakthrough for the Korean beauty industry.

A Roadmap to Cosmetic Compliance Management in China


Compliance with China’s cosmetic regulations is another challenge for K-beauty enterprises. To help enterprises better understand the compliance requirements, Seongmin Sohn, the general manager of REACH24H KOREA CO., LTD, introduced the latest updates on China’s cosmetic regulations and shared the compliance strategies. He especially stressed that enterprises should pay attention to the changes in the safety assessment regulations in China, where the assessment conductor qualification standards have tightened.
