REACH24H Consulting Group was invited to attend the third alternative method Seminar held in Chengdu. The meeting was chaired by the Guangdong Inspection and Quarantine Technology Center together with China Academy of Inspection and Quarantine Cosmetic Technology Center.  Cindy Xie, Regulatory Toxicologist of REACH24H, gave a speech on “Progress on evaluation and application of Europe toxicological alternative methods of chemicals”.

During the Seminar, the organizers reviewed the 9th World Congress on Alternative and Animal Use in the Life Sciences and also discussed how to promote domestic alternative method development.

On the first day, the participants had a profound discussion about the alternative technologies and validation of in vitro skin models.  As two leading domestic skin model manufacturers, Fourth Military Medical University and Foreland Pharma Co, .Ltd both had a share in their skin model achievements.  At the same time, foreign cosmetics companies L’Oreal, and Procter & Gamble also shared their in vitro models as well as methods for cosmetics efficacy and safety evaluation.

During the seminar, business representatives and testing organization staffs exchanged their opinions on a wide scope, thus made the conference end with a warm atmosphere.  It is a good opportunity for academics, testing organizations and enterprises to learn and share knowledge which will help promote the development and innovation of domestic alternatives.
