The Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals
The Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals (GHS) is a system for standardizing and harmonizing the classification and labelling of chemicals. It is not a regulation or a standard, it is an approach to:
- Defining health, physical and environmental hazards of chemicals;
- Creating classification processes that use available data on chemicals for comparison with the defined hazard criteria; and
- Communicating hazard information, as well as protective measures, on labels and Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
Countries can choose to implement GHS in its entirety or implement only certain parts (“building block” approach), develop or modify existing national programs that address classification of hazards and transmittal of information about those hazards and associated protective measures. GHS have been performed in many countries, and the REACH24h group has assisted hundreds of companies to comply with global regulation compliance requirements with vast experience like US, Europe, China, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Brazil, etc.
The GHS SDS should contain 16 headings. The heading, sequence and content are similar to the ISO, EU and ANSI MSDS/SDS requirements. The REACH24h group has finished thousands of SDS with different formats, so we will help you to communicate the SDS rapidly and rightly.
